Being self sufficient

One of the ways my family works hard at being self sufficient is to grow a large garden. This cuts back on having to buy processed foods, and wasting money at a grocery store. We plant what we need/want such as potatoes, corn, carrots, beans, peas, tomatoes, etc. And then when it’s time, we harvest and either freeze or dry it. Sometimes we dehydrate it. It just saves so much money, and I know exactly what my kids are putting into their bodies. Yes, it takes a little time. But it’s so worth it. I know many people don’t have much land, or any for that matter. But if you look into small scale gardening, there are alot of tips for growing in your home, on your roof, or even turning your front yard into a food producing, sometimes even money making garden.
